The Oregon Territory, March 1851: After the hardest winter she’s ever lived through, Olivia Montgomery has an even bigger adventure ahead –- she is going to be a mother any day.

Her wagon company has been settled in their frontier town of Eden Valley in the west for almost six months now, and while she has a roof over her head and plans for her garden, she is a long way from the quiet security she had dreamt of.
